Why you can trust SCMP

Some guys have all the luck. Leonardo DiCaprio, Johnny Depp, Jaime Foxx and Clint Eastwood will each receive Motorola's special-edition black Razr V3 mobile phone at next week's 77th Annual Academy Awards in Hollywood. Motorola is providing the phone as part of the academy's personalised keepsake packages, given to this year's top acting and directing Oscar nominees. With its razor-thin design, the V3 can easily be slipped into the smallest evening bag or tucked away in a tuxedo jacket, which could take celebrity techno-lust to an all-time high. The V3 is made almost entirely of metal, including aircraft-grade aluminium, magnesium and a nickel-plated copper alloy keypad. It has a built-in camera with digital zoom, a video player, a speaker phone, Bluetooth connection and quad-band technology, which allows the phone to work in more than 100 countries. Motorola has set no commercial release date for its newest star.
