The Yellow Earth Theatre will stage the timeless fairy-tale, The Nightingale, to celebrate the bicentenary of Hans Christian Andersen (1805-1875).

Directed by award-winner David Tse, the drama is a collaboration between British and Hong Kong artists, who will perform in English as well as Cantonese. The production explores the themes of freedom, love, loyalty and beauty through rich visual elements.

The Nightingale will be staged from Friday to March 12, at 8pm, with matinees on Saturday and March 12 at 3pm in the Shouson Theatre of the Hong Kong Arts Centre.

Tickets at $220, $160 and $120, with half-price concessions for students, are available from Urbtix on 2734 9009.

DETERMINED GROUP

Go for a Brighter Day is a Cantonese drama produced by local theatre group Friend & Friend DS. It will be staged from tomorrow until Saturday at 7.45pm in the Fringe Club's O2 Theatre.
