Building sale and purchase agreements down 5pc: Land Registry
Updated at 5.54pm: The total number of sale and purchase agreements for buildings received for registration with the Land Registry in February has dropped five per cent since January, a registry spokesman said on Wednesday.
According to latest land registration statistics, there were 9,631 sale and purchase agreements received for registration in February.
This figure showed a decrease of five per cent from January and 12.2 per cent compared with February 2004, the spokesman added.
The total consideration of these agreements in February was $29 billion, down seven per cent from January and 4.9 per cent compared with February 2004.
Among the 9,631 sale and purchase agreements, 8,260 were agreements for residential units, the spokesman said.
This was an increase of 4.4 per cent since January but down 12.6 per cent compared with February 2004.
