Seven arrested over $70m gambling syndicate

Police in Foshan smashed a $70 million gambling syndicate led by a Hong Kong man, Xinhua reported yesterday.
The gang, led by a 56-year-old, had been operating in Guangdong since last July and had been operating on the mainland and overseas, the report said.
Mainland officers raided the gang's bases and cars on January 20. They arrested seven people and seized valuables including jewellery and more than 230,000 yuan in cash, as well as freezing 2.9 million yuan in bank accounts.
Parties in Link reit suit to pay own legal costs

All parties involved in the Link Reit lawsuit will have to bear their own legal costs, Mr Justice Geoffrey Ma Tao-li ruled in the Court of Appeal.
