WIND speeds of up to 22 knots produced ideal conditions for the second race in the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club's China Coast Cup six-race series off Clear Water Bay yesterday. The heavier boats thrived in the conditions and line honours in the 51-mile Island course went to South African entry MBS Flier II. The weather claimed some casualties, however, with three boats retiring. Mamamouchi and X-Terminator suffered gear failure and Slalom Grade had an injured crew member taken to hospital for checks. X-Rated was among the honours again, winning the International Measurement System handicap division from Sky Song and Bimblegumbie. In the Channel Handicap System Racing division, Hi-Flier finished ahead of Ruby Tuesday and X-Rated. Avocet, Cuchulain and Tamarisk were first, second and third in the CHS Cruising division.
