She presented a paper on the topic 'Hong Kong and China: Building and Sustaining Our Advantage in Human Capital Management'. In her paper, Cheung recommended that Hong Kong and the mainland complement each other to capitalise on the opportunities presented by the World Trade Organisation and Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement. This would help boost the competitiveness of both places in the context of globalisation. 'This experience shows me the importance of broadening one's horizons, keeping track of developments in the global environment as well as maintaining a good balance between management theories and practical issues,' said Cheung.
