Anne Heung Hoi-lan was a 23-year-old administrative assistant who aspired to be an accountant when she joined the Miss Hong Kong Pageant in 1998.

Not only did she win, she was also named Miss Photogenic, Miss Hospitality and Miss International Style.

The following year, she came  third in Miss Chinese International 1999.

After that, she joined TVB Jade and started her career in showbiz.
