Chung Ying Theatre takes on moral education
Chung Ying Theatre is staging a school-touring drama which aims to bring moral education to students in a lively and thought-provoking way.
The moral education drama series is sponsored by the Quality Education Fund.
Last month, it kicked off the second part of a tour which will take it to 12 primary and secondary schools by the end of June. The drama toured a dozen schools in the first half of the academic year.
To encourage students to focus on the drama and discuss it, the play is staged only in one class in each school, rather than on a main stage in front of many classes.
Each performance comprises four short plays. After the play, students take part in discussions about honesty, self-discipline, sense of responsibility, courage and fortitude.
The play and discussion are mainly adapted from The Book of Virtues by William J. Bennett.
