NORAH JONES IN HK

Contemporary jazz singer Norah Jones will grace the city on Friday at 8pm in Hall 3 of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The vocalist and pianist made her name in the music scene in 2002 with her debut album Come Away With Me. The album earned her several Grammy Awards, including Best New Artist, Album and Record of the Year.

Since then, the 25-year-old  has sold more than 37 million records in less than three years.

Her follow-up album, Feels Like Home,  mixes  blues, country and her own mellow take on piano jazz.

Tickets for the concert cost $550, $450 and $350 and are available from HK Ticketing on 31 288 288.

ITALIAN DANCE

Renowned dance company Compagnia Aterballetto from Italy will  make its Hong Kong debut as  part of the  Arts Festival.

It will   perform at 7.30pm on Friday and Saturday,  with a matinee on Saturday at 2.30pm, in the  Hong Kong Cultural Centre's Grand Theatre.

The company is led by Mauro Bigonzetti, whose choreography has  featured in leading ensembles including the Kirov Ballet and the New York City Ballet.

Compagnia Aterballetto will  perform five of Bigonzetti's signature works which highlight  his mastery of different choreographic styles.

Tickets  range from $160 to $560 for adults and  $80 to $230 for students and can be obtained from Urbtix on 2734 9009.
