Here's mud in your eye: three heavenly hotel havens
The Mandarin Hotel, Landmark, Central
Open only to women from mid-summer, the Rasul is where three different kinds of mud are applied to the body. After 20 minutes, the guest is exposed to hot steam, the mud softens and its minerals are absorbed into the skin. The mud is washed off and lotions are applied with a massage.
For men, the Hammam bath features a heated steam room with a large massage stone table in its centre. A therapist scrubs and massages the guest's skin with a rough glove and essential oils.
An amethyst crystal steam room, vitality pool, tepidarium chairs and the Zen relaxation room are also available.
The Time Ritual - where guests are charged on the length of time they spend in the spa as opposed to the treatments they take - is designed to personalise their experience. Guests can describe how they want to feel afterwards and the therapist tailors treatment to suit their requirements.
