yuan leaps over renminbi in convertibility stakes
CPPCC delegate Wu Longzhang wants the nation's currency to be formally known as the Chinese yuan rather than renminbi. Mr Wu says it would help enhance the recognition and identity of the currency while paving the way for its eventual full convertibility. Another delegate, Feng Xisheng , was quoted by Guangzhou Daily as saying the change would heighten the development of e-business.
