March may have to be renamed 'Concert Month'. There was jazz queen Norah Jones' concert last Friday, and Avril Lavigne and Diana Krall will both perform before the month is out. And between those dates, legendary band R.E.M. will have its only Southeast Asian concert in Hong Kong on Sunday night at the Convention and Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai.
The alternative rock band, formed in 1980 in Athens, Georgia, has sold more than 37 million records over its 25 years in the business. Its three members, Michael Stipe (pictured), Peter Buck and Mike Mills, have created music that has inspired other famous alternative rock bands over the years.
CitySeen has a pair of tickets for excellent second-row seats and 10 copies of R.E.M.'s new CD, Around The Sun, for some enterprising readers.
