YCH Tung CHI YING Memorial School (TCY) won their second All-Hong Kong Schools Jing Ying title of the season when their football team beat St Joseph's College 2-1 in the final on Sunday.
The football trophy adds to the handball title the Sha Tin school won in January. Along with the third-place finish in the Jing Ying basketball tournament in December, this has been the school's most successful sporting season.
'We are focusing more on sports now and these results make the school very proud,' said coach Edmond Hung Chor-ying.
More than 200 TCY students turned out to support their team at Shamshuipo Sports Ground. The school's media and technology department (youngstertv.com) even set up four cameras and an editing unit at the venue to produce a highlights package of the final.
'The example set by the older students in our sports teams is a real encouragement and inspiration to the younger students at the school. I hope some will follow in their footsteps,' said Hung.
On the pitch, TCY's star striker Tse Man-chun was at his best.
