The big moment is almost here for the 24 teams who will battle it out in the 2005 Rugby World Cup Sevens at Hong Kong Stadium starting tomorrow.

Hong Kong have automatically qualified as hosts, and rugby fans, who will be able to see all the best international teams in action for three days, snapped up the $1,000 tickets in a flash.

New Zealand, Australia, Fiji, England, Canada, Argentina, South Africa and Samoa are among the nations taking part, and visitors from all over the globe have descended on Hong Kong to celebrate one of the world's favourite sporting carnivals.

The tournament will see seven more European teams, three Asian sides, two African nations, and Tonga, Uruguay and the United States in action, giving the event a truly international flavour.

The 24 sides will be split into four pools, with the top two in each, six-team group advancing to the Melrose Cup quarter-finals. Teams in third and fourth position will contest the Plate, while the last two will enter the Bowl competition.

Hong Kong have a tough task ahead after being drawn in the same group as powerhouse nations Fiji and Australia, along with Japan, Canada and Portugal. But the boys are optimistic they can win a couple.
