Do you have what it takes to work independently, yet interact effectively with a team of committee members? A sports-focused organisation with a strong part to play in the Hong Kong community is in search of a director. The Physical Fitness Association of Hong Kong, China (HKPFA) provides community services, acts as a certifying body for physical fitness personnel and offers consultation to the government. Reporting to the chairman of the HKPFA, the director will assist the executive committee in formulating policy and strategies, supervising the organisation's staff meetings and setting performance targets. Key responsibilities include strategic planning and development, programme implementation, service delivery, member support and, last but not least, networking with strategic partners. A strong background in physical fitness and sports administration is preferred. Candidates holding a university degree or the equivalent in physical education, sports science, recreation management or related disciplines are likely to do well. Applicants should have at least 10 years' experience in the sports or fitness field, with at least five years spent at a supervisory level. The ideal candidate must have an excellent command of written and spoken Cantonese and English, while fluency in Putonghua is a distinct advantage. Sound commercial awareness and business acumen are essential.
