Hongkongers are early risers but they were outnumbered by the Canada fans when the tournament kicked off. More than 100 Canada supporters made it to the stadium bright and early for the Canucks' first match at 8.37am against Hong Kong. CitySeen spotted them cheering from the South Stand, and suspects they were students with a leave pass. Hong Kong's supporters, by contrast, were surprisingly lacking at that hour. Or maybe they were thin on the ground because only 4,000 tickets were available to the public. In the end, it was probably a good thing. No one should be made to endure the cruelty of getting up in the early hours to watch their team receive a 41-0 drubbing.
