Tsao Chun See, 14 President Roosevelt. He was able to bring the US out of the Great Depression in the 1920s and passed many laws. Even though he was struck with polio at the age of 39, he still fought to guide his people to a better future. His struggle with this illness brought out his leadership qualities of determination, patience, compassion and courage. He is a model of outstanding excellence for us all. Elizabeth Cheung, 15 The late Communist Party leader Zhao Ziyang. He was the only leader to show humanism towards the students in the June 4 incident. When the students were on hunger strike, and leaders were planning how to suppress them, Zhao sacrificed his freedom for the sake of democracy and righteousness. Although he was rejected by the Communist government, his actions eventually influenced the government to instal freer policies. Antony Huen, 16 Otto von Bismarck. He is considered the founder of the German Empire. He was capable and intelligent and his personal qualities were shown in his satisfying policies such as the his well-known 'blood and iron policy' as well as his ability to make use of circumstances. From my limited knowledge of politics, I admire Bismarck the most.
