Mysterious blue lights and huge logos saying '3' - it could only be the launch of the new BMW 3 Series, held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai.
The 1,500 guests were welcomed by Christoph Stark, president and chief executive of BMW Group China Region, and Ivan Koh Tee Choong, managing director of BMW Concessionaires (HK), into a venue dominated by '3' logos projected by laser beams onto the walls and giant screens on both sides of the stage.
Ten dancers, holding lights in both hands, entertained the guests, who nibbled on snacks and sipped their drinks. Then, the new BMW 3 Series made its appearance on the stage.
Taiwanese supermodel Lin Chiling - in black top and miniskirt - caught all eyes when she went up to the stage to pose next to the car.
Guests and motoring enthusiasts spotted that night included Anna Ueyama, Pansy Ho Chiu-king, models Eunice Chan and Lisa S, Kam Kwok-leung, Helen Rong and her husband Stefano Giacotto, and Tricia Chen Kin-fei.
