A serial killer has admitted murdering 45 people over eight years in Liaoning . The confession came during a dramatic one-day trial in the provincial capital, Shenyang , a report says. Wang Qiang , 30, was charged with 45 murders and 10 counts of rape, and pleaded guilty to all but two of the rape charges during Wednesday's trial. He also admitted stealing about 30,000 yuan from his victims. Four alleged co-conspirators also stood trial in the Shenyang Municipal Intermediate People's Court, but the Shenyang Evening News did not reveal their names or say what charges they were facing 'I did it all by myself ... [the other suspects] didn't have anything to do with the rapes or murders. They only took part in the robberies,' Wang was quoted as saying. During the hearing, a furious relative of one of the victims jumped onto Wang and beat him with his fists before court police intervened. 'You are an evil monster and deserve to be cut into pieces,' the relative yelled. The high-profile trial was initially scheduled to last until tomorrow, but was cut back to one day after Wang pleaded guilty. A verdict is expected in the next few days. Prosecutors said Wang operated in Shenyang, the nearby city of Tieling and his home town, Kaiyuan. Some victims were young couples strolling along a canal in Shenyang, the newspaper said. The trial began in September, but was delayed after prosecutors called for a psychological evaluation.
