Finding your own personal nirvana can be a subjective experience and, in a city like Hong Kong, a tough one at that. However, it's always nice to have a nudge in the right direction. Inner peace should encapsulate mind, body and soul, so, after your yoga class, head to Flow Organic Bookshop. The store has a large selection of second-hand books, CDs and DVDs. All items are in good condition and there are bargains galore in the $10 corner, as well as the $5 and even $1 sale bins. Although it is an 'organic bookshop', the name simply reflects the store's ethos and there is a wide selection of novels, non-fiction and spiritual books. People donate their unwanted literature or music and are offered credit at the store, money or a swap.
The bins outside the shop are packed with items, the proceeds of which go to charity. Prices, as you might expect, are considerably less than other Hong Kong bookshops and there are signs proclaiming different percentages off the already reasonable prices. From astrology to Abba, some sort of Zen experience is guaranteed.
Flow Organic Bookshop is at 1/F, 40 Lyndhurst Terrace, Central, tel: 2964 9483.
