The owner and operator of Sogo, due to open its second department store in Hong Kong later this year, is already looking for a bigger site for its third.
Lifestyle International Holdings will take over the former Teddy Bear Kingdom in Tsim Sha Tsui next month, but admits the 110,000 sq ft site in the underground Amazon shopping plaza is not as big as it would like. Chief financial officer Terry Poon Fuk-chuen said the firm would spend $100 million redecorating the new store and hiring more than 100 staff in preparation for a September opening.
He added that the group was looking at opening a store in Macau but no timetable had been set.
