A stylish, reasonably-priced (yes, really) Japanese restaurant serving kushiyaki (skewered, grilled meats, seafood and vegetables) and other Japanese dishes. Clientele: Lots of young people and shoppers. What's on the menu? Kushiyaki items (obviously), many of which you see at other Japanese restaurants (such as skewers of mushrooms, minced chicken fillet, ox tongue or pork belly). But there's also an interesting list of house specialities, including boneless chicken wings stuffed with goose liver and scallions ($36 - left), sea urchin with bamboo shoots ($38), fried ostrich roll wrapped with asparagus and chilli ($28) and even camel hump ($18). And no Japanese restaurant in Hong Kong is complete without sushi and sashimi (including soft-shell crab and avocado, $42, and salmon and Boston lobster $42), tempura, and salads such as pumpkin ($28), crab roe ($10) and chilled tofu with ikura ($28). What else? There's seating at the sushi bar, communal tables with benches, banquettes, small tables for tete-a-tete, and even a private tatami room.
