If only she came to town more often, actress Bai Ling would probably be an entertainment reporter's best friend. Her red carpet attire - for example, dresses that seem to be perpetually on the verge of a malfunction - never fails to generate a scintillating tabloid story. But for the 34-year-old actress in the middle of it all, it just isn't that big a deal. 'It's just me and how I am,' the Hong Kong Film Awards Best Supporting Actress told CitySeen. 'I don't live here and I don't read the publications. So afterwards, whatever they say or write about what I did, it really doesn't affect me.'
But CitySeen can just imagine what the tabloids will say after the June Playboy comes out in the US, with Bai Ling the first Asian to grace the magazine's cover. 'I still haven't told my mum, actually,' Bai Ling told CitySeen. 'I don't know how I'm going to tell her. But, after all, what's wrong with the human body? I think our bodies are clean and beautiful and sometimes it's the human mind that's dirty.'
Whether they're pure of mind or not, those who found a way onto the guest list will be able catch a glimpse of Bai Ling tonight as she makes her Asian modelling debut at the Kee Club's Denim and Diamonds party.
