Chinese teenage sensation Ding Junhui recorded his finest moment with a pulsating 9-5 win over seven-times world champion Stephen Hendry in the final of the China Open in Beijing last night.

Ding, 18, proved too strong for one of the all-time greats of the game much to the delight of a rapturous crowd at Haidian Stadium. He became the first Asian to win a world-ranking event since Thaialnd's James Wattana did so in 1994. And he is the second-youngest winner of a ranking tournament, the youngest being Ronnie O'Sullivan. 'I never expected to beat Hendry so this is like a dream for me. It's been a great week and one I will remember for a long time,' said Ding.
