Anthony Wong Yiu-ming is a pioneer in the local music industry. He has wowed audiences with his flamboyant performances and his sell-out Tat Ming Pair reunion concert, The Service of People.
After graduating from TVB's Artiste Training Class in 1981, Wong worked as an assistant director for magazine programmes before becoming a DJ for Commercial Radio.
The turning point in Wong's career came in 1985 when he formed the band Tat Ming Pair with alternative musician Tats Lau Yi-tat. Signed by record company Polygram, the duo produced experimental yet catchy tracks on a wide range of topics from youth problems to politics. Their hits include Chronicles of the Stone and Street Angels.
One of the first alternative bands to win recognition in the mainstream pop scene, Tat Ming Pair shaped Hong Kong's musical development.
After the duo disbanded in 1991, Wong collaborated with a host of budding musicians. In the same year, he released his debut solo album, Faith, Hope and Love.
