Madison's restaurant in Hutchinson House in Central is holding a wine dinner on April 13 hosted by Kent Godwin of Hahn Estates in California. The meal includes smoked monkfish salad with tomato and eggplant terrine, paired with the Painter Bridge Chardonnay 2003, roasted quail with foie gras, truffle and rye bread stuffing, served with the Rex Goliath Pinot Noir 2002, and braised baby veal shank in merlot pearl barley risotto, served with the Hahn Estates Cabernet Sauvignon 2002. The Avenue Restaurant & Bar at the Holiday Inn Golden Mile in Tsim Sha Tsui is featuring lobster throughout this month. The special dishes include Boston lobster thermidor, grilled lobster salad with rocket salad and goat cheese, lobster risotto and grilled Boston lobster with beef fillet and bearnaise sauce. Harakan restaurant, at Sunning Plaza in Causeway Bay, has cherry blossom delicacies on its menu until the end of the month. The dishes include sakura bean curd and sakura whitebait with plum wine, lily bulb manju and Japanese black beans, sakura salmon sashimi (below), and steamed snapper with sakura rice ball. If you can't get to Thailand next week to celebrate Songkran, the Thai new year, head to Klong Bar and Grill in Wan Chai - but be prepared to get wet because the holiday is also known as the water festival.
