Official denies faking expenses

Kwun Tong district councillor So Ka-ho, 39, and his assistant, Chan Wai-tat, 24, pleaded not guilty yesterday to falsifying their expenses.

So was accused of claiming $2,660 in printing expenses with two false receipts. Chan faced three forgery charges for faking three receipts totalling $83,160 last year. Chan was also accused of using two false receipts to claim $92,500.

So and Chan were released on $3,000 and $5,000 bail respectively after their appearance in Kwun Tong court. They will face trial between June 27 and 29 and a pre-trial hearing will be held on May 18.
