Bill Kwok Chi-piu, 52, has been a non-executive director at Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing since its establishment in April 2000.

Mr Kwok also served as a director of the futures exchange from 1991 and as a vice-chairman from 1997 until it merged with the stock exchange to form the HKEx.

After graduating with a bachelor of science (chemistry) degree and a bachelor of arts (economics) degree from Stanford University, Mr Kwok went on to earn a doctor of philosophy (biochemistry) degree from the University of Chicago.

He has spent most of his 20-year career in financial markets as managing director of Wocom Holdings, the securities and futures trading arm of his family's business, which includes the Wing On chain of department stores.

Mr Kwok is a director of Wing On International Holdings and the Investor Compensation Company, and was a director of the Hong Kong Securities Institute from 1997 to 2003, serving as its chairman from 1999 to 2001.

Vincent Lee Kwan-ho, 49, has been a non-executive director of HKEx since its establishment in April 2000. He is also the managing director of his family-owned Tung Tai group of companies.
