60pc of men say a good head of hair is to die for
Nearly 60 per cent of men would give up two years of life in return for a full head of hair.
The surprising result came up in a survey where a similar number of respondents said they were willing to spend $100,000 or more on hair-loss treatment.
An overwhelming 90 per cent said they believed thicker and fuller hair would make them more confident at work - and more attractive. The three-week online poll of 668 men - 58 per cent of whom suffered hair loss - was carried out by health products company BioHealth Plus from late February.
It found that 57.8 per cent would trade two years of their lives for thicker, fuller hair. Those of this view included men who still had all their hair. Almost as many, 56.7 per cent, said they would pay $100,000 or more for hair-loss treatment.
Of those already losing their hair, 51 per cent said they had overdrawn their credit cards or taken out loans for expensive treatments.
Of the men suffering hair loss, half were aged 25 to 34. Clinical psychologist Johnny Chan Kwok-ping said men were as conscious of their appearance as women nowadays.
