Constitutional Affairs Secretary Stephen Lam Sui-lung and Secretary for Housing, Planning and Lands Michael Suen Ming-yeung should not be reappointed as ministers by the next chief executive, an opinion survey has shown.
The poll, by the University of Hong Kong's public opinion programme, found 32 per cent of 646 respondents wanted Mr Lam to be removed, with only 23 per cent saying he should remain in office.
Mr Suen fared slightly better with support of 28 per cent, but with 33 per cent saying he should go.
Unresolved lawsuits over the Link Reit and public housing rents as well as the Housing Authority's deteriorating finances have dogged Mr Suen's term in office.
Mr Lam is caught up in the controversy surrounding the interpretation of the Basic Law on the next chief executive's term.
Secretary for Justice Elsie Leung Oi-sie, who is also involved with the interpretation issue, gathered just 31 per cent of public support.
