As the old saying goes, 'practice makes perfect'. Hong Kong Education City's (HKedCity) English Campus   - a website which provides free English learning resources - has developed a series of exercises for   English Language (Syllabus B) to help students taking  the HKCEE  this year.

These exercises  will help Form Five students become more familiar with  Paper II (Reading Comprehension and Usage) and Paper III (Integrated Reading, Listening and Writing) of the syllabus.

For Paper II, four reading comprehension exercises are available online.

Every Monday starting this week, an exercise on usage (cloze passages and multiple-choice questions) will be posted  for four consecutive weeks.

For Paper III, the listening exercises will include multiple-choice questions, fill in the blanks and maps and directions.

The first set of exercises were posted  on April 6, while the other two will appear on alternate Mondays thereafter.

The  exercises were developed by English teachers who have taught  in local schools for many years.

The comprehension and usage exercises were created by Peter Chiu, a senior English teacher at La Salle College. The listening exercises were developed by Graham Young, a native English-speaking teacher and English Campus consultant.

HKedCity are posting the exercises four weeks  before next month's HKCEE Paper II and Paper III  so that students have enough time to prepare for the exam.
