Pat Cash plays a return to Thomas Muster in the opening match of the ATP Champions Tour at Victoria Park last night. Cash, the 1987 Wimbledon champion, won 6-4, 6-4 against the Austrian former world number one. The two stars gave full value with some entertaining play. 'I'm very happy about winning the game obviously,' Cash said. 'I've played Thomas a few times and they've been very close matches. It's only the second time I've played on this court and it took a bit of time to get some rhythm.' Cash's previous match here was in 1991 when he won the Salem Open. The 39-year-old is a frequent visitor. 'I love Hong Kong. My girlfriend lives here and I have an academy in Australia which is owned by a guy from Hong Kong. So I come back quite a bit, actually as often as I can.' Jeremy Bates beat Cedric Pioline 6-4, 2-6, 10-6, Henri Leconte beat Anders Jarryd, who retired with a back injury at 4-1 down, and Goran Ivanisevic beat Mark Kratzmann, 6-2, 6-3.
