THESE are momentous times for Walter Gerrard, the most famous Scotsman in the territory - after Hilton GM James Smith, of course.
The tartan terror (that's if his exploits on the football field are to be believed!) will be celebrating his 50th birthday next Monday. An occasion ''Big Wall'er'', as he is known back home, will mark by wearing a kilt and riding a rickshaw around Central, although this caper has also got something to do with the Hilton's famed annual Scottish promotion, launched the same day.
But first, Gerrard - an ardent . . . no, make that ultra-passionate, supporter of Glasgow Rangers, whose colours he once donned - needs to explain to us how he came to be snapped (right) in a compromising position with compatriot Lou Macari, who earlier this week was appointed manager of Celtic, the arch rivals of his beloved team.
We ask, is Gerrard mellowing in old age?
