Tourism chief Selina Chow Liang Shuk-yee is the most popular non-ministerial member of the Executive Council, but three of the other six ex-officio members hardly rate, according to a recent poll.
The quarterly survey by the University of Hong Kong's public opinion programme showed Mrs Chow enjoyed a 3-point increase in her popularity to 59 points in April. She is the only surveyed member to have a popularity rating of more than 50.
Three members did not even warrant a score because they had recognition rates of less than 50 per cent from respondents. They were banker Bernard Chan, Laura Cha Shih May-lung and Andrew Liao Cheung-sing.
'The result doesn't surprise me as I don't belong to a political party. Selina is much more visual and has been in politics a lot longer than I have,' Mr Chan said.
He added that Ms Cha and himself were more recognised within the business community.
Mrs Chow's closest rival was Cheng Yiu-tong, whose rating stood at 47. Tsang Yok-sing and Leung Chun-ying both scored 46.
