Midland Realty (Holdings) plans to add 70 branches for a combined 410 by the end of the year to fend off competition, according to executive director Lam Fung-fong. Midland had already opened about 30 branches this year, she said. 'Competition will intensify while the property market continues to grow this year. We plan to increase our branch network to stay competitive,' Ms Lam said yesterday after an extraordinary general meeting. The shareholders approved a change in the company's name to Midland Holdings to reflect its diversity, which includes an asset management and online education platform, Ms Lam said.
