Bizou, the newest restaurant by Dining Concepts (Olive, SoHo Spice, El Taco Loco, Archie B's and Bombay Dreams), opened two weeks ago in SoHo, replacing the dai pai dong between Fat Angelo's and SoHo Spice. The chef of the restaurant is Canadian Chris Mark, who worked previously in California, Shanghai and at the Grand Hyatt hotel in Tokyo. The highlight of the open kitchen is a rotisserie grill imported from France. Dishes include crisp California romaine hearts with bacon, tomatoes and lemon parmesan dressing ($88), pan-fried soft-shell crab with avocado and Old Bay remoulade ($118), rotisserie of Australian fresh chicken with mashed potatoes, mushroom ragout and natural gravy (top left; $168), suckling pig with honey-mustard glaze, crisp black bean cake and summer succotash ($158) and roasted whole golden-thread bream with sauteed garlic spinach and sun-dried tomato vinaigrette (left; $168). Bizou is at 49 Elgin Street, SoHo, tel: 2147 0100.
