singer-actor Alex Fong Lik-sun encouraged a group of students to do their best academically as well as in sports and plan their future early to achieve success in life.
Fong's advice served as a morale booster for YWCA Hioe Tjo Yoeng College's swimming team, who were preparing for their first training session of the new term.
Fong, a former national swimmer, was invited by the school's Parent-Teacher Association to give a motivational talk to more than 600 students earlier this month.
'The purpose of this visit is to understand the problems encountered by students and to offer them some positive advice,' said Fong.
'I hope my experiences will help them.'
The 25-year-old Canto-pop star described himself as 'a determined person'. He encouraged the students to try their best in studies and sports and plan their future at an early age.
