When champagne house Veuve Clicquot launched its Business Woman of the Year Award here last year - won by CLP Power managing director Betty Yuen - we made all the requisite little jokes connecting bubbly and the boardroom.
This year's finalists included Jennifer Carver, CEO of Oria Capital, Michelle Guthrie, CEO of Star, and Joanna Hotung, founder and managing director of Kids' Gallery.
And at Monday night's award ceremony at the Grand Hyatt, Ms Guthrie (below) was crowned winner.
According to the judges, Ms Guthrie - the first woman chief of Star - showed 'tenacity and entrepreneurial spirit to meet and overcome the challenges of the competitive television industry'.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ms Guthrie said: 'This award clearly shows the important role that women play in business and I hope it will continue to inspire businesswomen to strive to achieve the very best they can within their careers.'
