Oxford University Press has published an online series of interviews with people well known for their achievements in linguistics, literature, geography, maths, science and music. Interviews were conducted by students who wished to broaden their horizons. Interviewees included legislator Audrey Eu Yuet-mee, martial arts writer Louis Cha, and Sarah Liao Sau-tong, Secretary for Environment, Transport and Works. focus on Humanistic Buddhism

Chinese University of Hong Kong has set up the Centre for the Studies of a Humanistic Buddhism with the sponsorship from Fo Guang Shan Foundation for Buddhist Culture and Education. The centre aims to promote Buddhist studies and overseas academic exchange on Buddhism. Venerable Master Hsing Yun, director of the foundation, will be the honorary consultant of the centre.

The Dragon Foundation will sponsor 30 outstanding local undergraduates, recognised as Global Citizens, to attend a week-long conference in New York. The students will learn to develop leadership, hear views from international leaders, and visit international institutions such as the United Nations, World Bank and International Monetary Fund. Also, the American Chamber of Commerce Charitable Foundation is to provide $16,000 for a Hong Kong secondary school graduate to pursue undergraduate study at a US university.
