Indiana-based Vincennes University community college is offering 10 scholarships for Hong Kong students to study engineering there. The awards involve tuition concession and dormitory grant of US$4,000 to $6,000, meaning students can study at a total cost of just US$10,000 per year. The university's Hong Kong alumni network, which is based here and in the US, has set up its own scholarship fund to help support needy students. Members in Hong Kong are prepared to help students plan for their departure while the US-based alumni will offer academic and career advice. More than 600 Hong Kong students have attended the college over the past three decades.
