Recording all his albums at home, Oliver epitomises the spirit of DIY music.

'For a start, you have to invest a certain amount to upgrade your computer and purchase microphones and stuff. But you can use this equipment for a long time, producing maybe another 10 albums with them,' said Oliver.

Having all the necessary instruments and equipment already, Oliver's second album Freddie & King, which was released last year, cost him only about $3,500.

'Producing an album in Hong Kong is now an easy thing to do,' he said.

If you are talented and good-looking, you can sign to a music label, just like 20-year-old singer-songwriter Ahy Choi (pictured above).
