12-member accord on fighting spam signed
Hong Kong has signed the Seoul-Melbourne Multilateral Memorandum of Understanding on Co-operation in Countering Spam with 11 other signatories in the Asia-Pacific region.
The memorandum, which aims to minimise spam, involves the sharing of knowledge, information and intelligence about known sources of spam problems. Spam accounts for more than 60 per cent of e-mails in Hong Kong, the government says, but only 5 per cent is local.
