The annual charity event, the Great Chefs of Hong Kong, takes place on May 26 at the Grand Hyatt in Wan Chai. As usual, participants are donating their time, personnel, food and drinks, so all proceeds go to the Heep Hong Society, which helps children with developmental and learning problems. Tickets for the event are $600, or $1,000 for access to the corporate lounge. Participants include the Grand Hyatt (Spanish spiced hot chocolate with churros, home-made crispy cones with assorted ice cream), W's Entrecote (duck a l'orange, foie gras d'oie), Veda (sour rice and lentil risotto with savoury sesame poppadoms, coconut and rice hats with seasonal vegetable and chicken stews, golden sugar and ginger crispies with coconut ice cream), Cafe Deco (green and white asparagus tempura sushi rolls), and the JW Marriott hotel (tuna tartare cornets, JW's sushi bar hand rolls, green tea creme brulee, caramel toffee tart). Beverage companies include Watson's, Montrose, Kedington, Remy and Jebsen. For bookings and inquiries, visit www.heephong.org , or call 2776 3111.
