Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) has launched a series of fun-filled educational activities to allow secondary school students to experience campus life over the next four months.
More than a dozen activities have been organised by the university's various departments at weekends and over the summer holidays. PolyU will offer a wide range of activities for participants, including workshops, mini-lectures and summer camps.
The events will continue until August.
'Last year, more than 1,000 students in Form Four or above took part in our activities. Among them, 500 enrolled in the summer camps and enjoyed university life at our student halls of residence,' said Ada Chan, PolyU's senior assistant academic secretary.
'Following last year's success, we will expand some of the events for junior secondary students this year.'
A highlight of this year's programme is a series of weekend workshops and mini-lectures this month. They include 'Wonders of Optical Fibres' on May 14 by the Department of Electrical Engineering, 'Blood: Your Friend or Foe?' by the Department of Health Technology and Informatics on the same day, as well as 'Success Stories and Methods of Creative Thinking' by the general education centre on May 21.
