Educators are using the internet as a match-making service to help schools fund projects.
The Hong Kong Institute of Education (HKIEd) last Thursday launched EdExchange, aimed at matching educational projects with donors.
EdExchange provides a three-step process to education funding.
Teachers can apply for their projects to be listed on EdExchange's website. Afterwards, a proposal review committee made up of HKIEd students - under the guidance of faculty members from the institute - will review and approve projects for listing.
Donors can then choose the proposals they wish to fund from the website.
Permanent Secretary for the Education and Manpower Bureau Fanny Law Fan Chiu-fan said EdExchange was an efficient way to solve the problem of mismatches between resources and needs. So far, EdExchange has listed 41 projects submitted by 31 schools.
