MASTER French trainer Patrick Biancone is leaving nothing to chance today for Derby hope Flirting Dancer.

The beautifully-bred son of Irish Derby winner Shareef Dancer was one of the star workers at the track yesterday morning - as he has been all season since coming back into work about two months ago.

It is not common practice in Hong Kong for trainers to sprint their horses up the day before the race, but it is a usual procedure for Biancone.

Neville Begg sometimes does it and so, too, does Ivan Allan on occasions.

It is also a very popular training method in other parts of the world and it is usually significant when one of Biancone's works this way the day before his big race.

It is also significant when they work the way that Flirting Dancer did yesterday.
