Tie the knot in real style
ON the first weekend of the opening of the Gold Coast Hotel, management was amazed at the response as local people flocked out to see this new star in the Sino Group constellation.
''We could barely keep people in check as they wandered everywhere with cameras, taking note of everything,'' said general manager Reinhold Engelmann.
''It is a fairly good indication that the resort and its grounds will become a prime spot for wedding parties and outdoor events.'' Hotel wedding packages have been organised.
The hotel can even arrange for the bride and groom to arrive in style in a gold Rolls-Royce.
There are four packages for those contemplating their big day. All are for a minimum 20 tables of 12, exclusive of service charge.
The Superior costs $2,988 per table and includes one night in a superior room with champagne, fruit basket and chocolate, use of the Mercedes-Benz bridal limousine for three hours, breakfast, flower centrepieces for each table, three-tier mock wedding cake for photography, three parking spaces, mahjong, free corkage on alcohol brought in (one bottle per table), special discounted rooms rates for any extension stay before or after the reception, and discounts on soft drinks and local beer.
The Deluxe, at $3,388 per table, has all of this with accommodation in the deluxe room, plus eight invitation cards per table (printing excluded), embroidered guest signature book, a discounted room rate for the host family on the night before or after the reception and 50 per cent accommodation discount ''Honeymooner Special'' for the bridal couple for up to six nights.
The Grand, at $3,888 per table, allows the use of the bridal limousine for four hours, five parking spaces and complimentary buffet dinner for two at the Cafe Lagoon on the first wedding anniversary.
The Golden wedding package has all the Grand has to offer as well as a flower arrangement in the room, deluxe flower arrangement for the reception table and head table, bridal bouquet and corsage for the bride and groom, one hour photographer service in the landscaped garden, two days and one night in a deluxe room on the first wedding anniversary with champagne, breakfast and a $500 dinner voucher.
