German charged in Philippines with murder of HK residents is reportedly back home
Philippine police are investigating how the prime suspect in the murder of three Hong Kong residents was able to flee the country.
German national Uwe Friesl slipped away and returned to his homeland despite his bloody footprint being found inside a villa where the three were stabbed.
It also emerged yesterday that German police have asked Manila to allow them to investigate the murders of the Hong Kong residents - German developer Anton Forstenhausler, 69, art gallery owner Manfred Schoeni, 58, and architect John Cowperthwaite, 59.
Filipino maid Erma Sarmiento was also killed in the attack.
The four were found dead last May at Forstenhausler's luxury villa on Boracay island.
