A superb ride on Hail The Storm in the ninth event at Sha Tin yesterday edged champion Douglas Whyte past Gary Moore as the most successful expatriate rider in the 27-year professional history of local racing. Whyte, who arrived in Hong Kong at the start of the 1996-97 season, has ridden 695 winners in the SAR. Hail The Storm was the second of a double - his 117th in Hong Kong - and took Whyte to 85 winners for the season. He is now 11 wins clear of fellow South African Felix Coetzee at the top of the table and is odds-on to take the jockeys' title for a fifth time. Hong Kong's all-time leading jockey is Tony Cruz, who landed 946 races.
