Drama students at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts are staging The Children's Hour, a controversial play written by Lillian Hellman in 1934.

The story, which is about the destructive power of lies, was an instant success. It revolves around Mary, a dishonest and manipulative girl who lives in a boarding school run by Karen Wright and Martha Dobie.

When Karen punishes Mary for her misconduct, in order not to have to return to school, Mary lies, saying that Karen and Martha are having an affair.

The play was translated into Cantonese by Chung Yin-sze and is directed by Peter Jordan.
